Last Sunday, the lesbian bar B'Femme was festively opened. Now, Amsterdam has three cafés especially for women.

B'Femme is an initiative of Valy Pintiuc, owner of the gay bars BLEND and BLEND XL, and Rachel Matteman, who has been organizing the women's party at the Stopera during Pride Amsterdam for years.

After Pintiuc heard more and more often that the women who came to his bars wanted a place of their own, the idea arose to create a separate women's café in the little-used second bar area of BLEND XL.

Given her experience with the women's parties, Matteman became the manager of the new place. She told AT5 that the main thing is to dance and then time will tell whether B'Femme becomes a cozy evening café, or a place where everyone goes wild.

During the festive opening of B'Femme, on Easter Sunday, all visitors received a free welcome drink plus 1 drink at the bar between 16.00 and 18.00 hrs, while a female DJ in the person of Charlie Lima provided the music.

As said, B'Femme is located in the left part of BLEND XL, where a separate space was created by placing a glass wall. The new place has its own entrance at Reguliersdwarsstraat 48:
